Biography

Ken or Pud was signed by Celtic from school in 1939 and played in just two reserve games before war broke out.

Pud was re-instated as a Junior with Lochee Harp, turning senior again in 1945 with the striker turning out regularly during the 1945-46 season, making thirty-four appearances. He made his debut for the club against East Fife and scored the first of his ten goals against Dumbarton in a 5-2 league win.

His last, and only truly competitive appearance given that season 45-46 doesn't count in official records, ironically came against Dundee United in a 2-1 victory at Tanadice the following season. We say ironically because almost exactly two years later he joined United for whom he made sixteen appearances scoring three times during the 1948-49 season.

Moving on to Ayr United before retiring, Ken worked in a shoe repair business in Tayport and started his own business in Hawkhill. He then worked for NCR before moving to England in 1959, dying in Essex in December 1995.
