Biography

Although apparently heavy-built, the inside forward who was signed from Clyde was highly talented and very mobile.

Only 21 years old when he was signed by Bobby Ancell for £28,000 in the summer of 1966, over the next five years he was to make a significant contribution to the Dens Park cause, scoring 25 goals in his 136 competitive appearances.

A member of the side which lost out to a rampant Celtic in the 1967 League Cup Final, after figuring against DWS Amsterdam, he missed out on the rest of the club's run to the semi-final of the Fairs Cup. In his only other European appearance, he enjoyed better fortune scoring twice in the 4-2 triumph away to AB Copenhagen in September 1971.

However, before that UEFA Cup run was over, he had moved to Falkirk in exchange for Bobby Ford. Injury curtailed his playing career, restricting him to just a handful of appearances for the Bairns.

Timeline
