Biography

Born in Burton upon Trent, Kane Hemmings began his career playing youth football for Tamworth before joining the Rangers youth setup.

He made his first appearance for Rangers in 2011 during a Champions League qualifier against Malmo FF, but could not prevent the Ibrox club losing 2-1 on aggregate.

Kane made a total of 9 appearances for the Ibrox outfit, and was loaned to Cowdenbeath during the 2012/2013 season, before signing for the Fife club permanently.

The following season was highly productive for Kane as he scored 24 goals in 39 appearances and formed an effective partnership with Greg Stewart. His success for Cowdenbeath attracted interest from English clubs, and Kane signed for Barnsley.

After a difficult season in which he only scored 3 goals in 23 appearances for the Yorkshire club, Kane returned to Scotland and signed for Dundee.

Kane became an instant hit with the Dens Park faithful, reuniting with his former strike partner Greg Stewart and scored 25 goals in 42 appearances as the Dees just missed out on a top 6 finish in the league.

In July 2016, Kane returned to England to sign for Oxford United for £250,000.

After scoring 15 goals in 54 appearances, the striker signed for Mansfield Town on loan in August 2017, scoring 15 goals in 40 appearances for the League Two Club.

In the summer of 2018 Kane was transferred to Notts County for an undisclosed fee, signing a 3 year contract. Despite scoring 14 goals in 37 games he was unable to prevent the club from being relegated from the Football League.

With Notts County in financial trouble following their relegation, Kane completed a free transfer back to Dundee in August 2019.

While not as productive as his first spell, the striker still managed to score 10 goals in 27 games before departing the club in August 2020 to sign for hometown club Burton Albion.
