Biography

John Martin was one of many players to emerge from the successful reserve team of the mid- seventies - the full-back made his first appearance for the club at home to Aberdeen in the first ever Premier League game on August 30, 1975.

In total, he made thirty-nine appearances for the club, scoring twice. His last game was against Berwick Rangers in the League Cup in 1977-78 and was freed at the end of the season after turning part-time.
