Biography

A winger who came through the youth ranks at Dundee. Derek made his debut in the final sectional League Cup tie against St Johnstone at the end of August 1974, but added only two more appearances to that total during his first season.

The following campaign, he appeared twenty-one times scoring twice as Dundee lost their Premier status, but over his final two terms at Dens, couldn't match that figure and most of his remaining appearances were from the bench.

In a total of four years at the club, he made forty-two appearances scoring three times.
