Rhys Healey burst onto the scene as an 18 year old at Welsh club Connah’s Quay Nomads, scoring 14 goals in 21 games in the 2012/2013 season.
This form earned him a big move to Cardiff City, however Rhys was unable to replicate his early career form in the Welsh capital, making just 16 appearances in the club in six seasons.
The young striker was loaned out several times, and spent the first half of the 2015/2016 season on loan at Dens Park. Rhys was signed by Paul Hartley to bolster the team’s options in attack, however he only made 4 starts from a total of 7 appearances at Dundee.
The striker netted once, in a 2-1 defeat to Kilmarnock in October 2015. Initially signed on loan until January 2016, the youngster returned to Cardiff early following a knee injury, which side-lined him for the remainder of the season.
After further loan spells away from Cardiff City, Rhys signed permanently for English League Two side MK Dons in July 2019, and was the Dons’ top scorer with 12 goals in 20 games. This earned Rhys a move to French club Toulouse, where the striker finally managed to recapture his early career form hitting double figures in each of his first two seasons with the second tier side.
