Biography

Daryll Megatt started his career with South Camlachie Amateurs, before joining Queen’s Park in 2010.

The left back made over 70 appearances for Queen’s Park in 2 seasons, and won a place in the Third Division Team of the Year in 2012. Daryll’s performances for Queen’s Park earned him a move to Paul Hartley’s Alloa Athletic, and he was part of the Wasps side that won promotion to the Championship in his first season at the club.

Daryll made over 100 appearances for Alloa in three seasons, which prompted his former manager Paul Hartley to sign the left back for Dundee.

Daryll signed a pre-contract agreement to join Dundee for the 2015/2016 season, and agreed a two-year deal when his Alloa contract expired.

Daryll struggled with the step up to full time football, making just 6 appearances for Dundee. The left back’s first appearance for the club came from the bench in a 2-1 victory over St Johnstone in August 2015. Daryll had to wait until October for his first start for Dundee, playing the first 45 minutes of a 2-1 defeat to Kilmarnock, before being withdrawn for Kostadin Gadzhalov.

The defender completed 90 minutes just once for Dundee, a 1-0 defeat to Hamilton Academical in May 2016.

Daryll’s contract at Dundee was terminated by mutual consent, and the defender returned to the Championship, signing for Ayr United.
