Estonian international winger Henrik Ojamaa has played for a number of clubs across Europe in a nomadic career. He is best known in Scottish football for his association with Motherwell, signing for the Steelmen in January 2012. Initially penning a deal until the end of the season, four goals in five games led to Henrik signing an improved 2 and a half year contract a month after arriving in Lanarkshire.
Henrik ended the season with 9 goals from 21 games to help Motherwell finish 3rd. The winger continued his fine form into the following season, netting four times and providing 16 assists - the most of any player in the league - as Motherwell finished in second place behind Celtic. This was Motherwell’s highest league finish for nearly 20 years.
This form attracted the interest of Polish giants Legia Warsaw, who paid Motherwell €500,000 for Henrik’s services.
The winger made 44 appearances in all competitions as Legia secured the league title. After spells with clubs in Norway, England and the Netherlands.
Henrik moved on loan to Dundee from Go Ahead Eagles in January 2017. The Estonian featured regularly for Dundee through to the end of the season, making his debut in a 2-2 draw with Inverness in February 2017. Henrik provided assists in consecutive Dundee games; the 2-1 victory over Rangers at Dens, and the 5-1 drubbing of Motherwell at Fir Park.
This bright start to Henrik’s Dundee career tailed off, as did the form of the team, and he began to feature more from the bench than the starting 11. Henrik left Dundee at the end of his loan spell, having made 14 appearances for the club without scoring.
The winger returned to his homeland in 2021 to play for his first club, FC Flora.
