Goalkeeper Scott Bain began his career as a trainee at Aberdeen, and was awarded a professional contract in 2010.
Scott never made a first team appearance for the Dons, and spent time on loan to Elgin City before signing permanently for Alloa Athletic in 2011.
Managed by Paul Hartley, Scott became a regular starter for Alloa, helping them achieve consecutive promotions from League Two to the Championship between 2011 and 2013.
Scott established himself as one of the highest rated young goalkeepers in Scotland, and was one of Hartley’s first signings as Dundee manager in May 2014.
The goalkeeper made his debut for Dundee in a 4-0 League Cup victory over Raith Rovers in August 2014. Initially back-up to Kyle Letheren, Scott was forced to wait until October for his league debut, which came in a 3-1 victory over Motherwell.
Scott established himself as first choice goalkeeper, earning a contract extension at Dundee until end of season 2017/18. Scott’s Dundee form also earned him a call up to the Scotland squad in June 2015.
Scott fell out of favour under Neil McCann, Hartley’s successor, and the goalkeeper was frozen out of the team following a 3-1 home defeat to Hamilton Academical in October 2017.
After being made to train with the youth team, Scott was first loaned to Hibernian in January 2018, before the loan was cancelled without him having made an appearance for the club.
The goalkeeper then signed for Celtic on loan as part of the deal which brought Hibs striker Simon Murray to Dundee.
At the end of his loan spell, Scott signed permanently for Celtic on a four year contract, where he has won numerous league and cup titles and been capped by Scotland.
