Biography

Dumfries born Kevin Holt progressed through the youth system of Queen of the South, his hometown club. The left back made his senior debut for the club in a 4-1 victory over Greenock Morton in September 2011.

Kevin made 137 appearances for the “Doonhamers” in his first spell for the club, scoring 6 goals, including a free kick in a 2-0 victory over Rangers in December 2014.

On 18th May 2015, Kevin signed a pre-contract agreement to join Dundee. During his three-year spell at Dens, Kevin made the left back position his own, appearing 113 times for the Dark Blues.

The defender also chipped in with important goals, including another free kick against Rangers in a 2-1 victory for Dundee in September 2017. This was Dundee’s first home league win over Rangers since 1992.

Kevin had to battle with Jon Aurtenexte for the left back position in 2017/2018, however still made 32 appearances in all competitions for the Dees.

The defender also scored in a 1-1 draw with Hibernian in August 2017 - securing Dundee’s first league point of the season – and the winner in a 1-0 victory over Hamilton Academical in May 2018.

Kevin was released by Dundee at the end of the 2017/2018 season, and has since played in Cyprus for Pafos and Ermis Aradippou, and had a spell back at hometown club Queen of the South.

In 2021 the defender signed for Partick Thistle.
