Biography

Born in Canada, Marcus Haber spent time in the youth team of Dutch side Groningen before making his debut for the Vancouver Whitecaps. The striker scored 12 goals in 39 appearances, which attracted the interest of English Premier League side West Bromwich Albion, who snapped him up in 2009.
Marcus did not make a senior appearance for the Baggies, and was loaned to Exeter City, Vancouver Whitecaps, and St Johnstone over the following two seasons. St Johnstone signed Marcus on a permanent deal in 2011, however the Canadian’s spell in Perth was unsuccessful, netting just 2 goals in 34 appearances. Marcus departed the Saints in 2012 for English League One side Stevenage, and spent time on loan to Notts county before signing permanently for Crewe Alexandria.

Marcus signed for Dundee, following a successful trial, in October 2016. The striker made his debut for the Dees in a 2-0 defeat to Partick Thistle, and netted his first goal for the club in a win over Motherwell in November 2016. The striker finished his first season at Dens with 9 goals in 28 appearances, including a brace in the 5-1 demolition of Motherwell in February 2017. Following the departure of Paul Hartley, Marcus began to feature less in the first team. The striker scored just two goals in 13 appearances under Hartley’s successor Neil McCann.

Paul Hartley took Marcus on loan to Falkirk for the 2018/2019 season. The striker’s time with the Bairns was unsuccessful, he made 17 appearances and failed to score. Falkirk terminated the loan early and Marcus returned to Dens, before leaving Dundee by mutual consent in January 2019.

Since leaving Dundee Marcus has returned to Canadian football, with spells at Pacific FC and Calvary FC before signing for Cambodian club Visakha in 2021.
