Biography

Tunisian striker Sofien Moussa began his career with hometown club AS Marsa in the 2nd tier of Tunisian football. In 2014, Sofien moved to topflight club Etoile du Sahel where he scored twice in 16 games to help the team finish the season 2nd in the league. Sofien moved to Europe in 2015, taking in spells in Romania with Petrolul Ploiesti, Norway with Tromso, and Bulgaria with Locomotiv GO.

Sofien arrived at Dens in July 2017, and made an instant impact with 5 goals in his first 3 games, including a hat trick against Cowdenbeath in the League Cup group stage. Sofien finished his debut season in Tayside as the Dundee’s top scorer with 13 goals in all competitions, including braces in a 3-0 win over Partick Thistle, and a 2-1 victory over St Johnstone.

The following season was less successful, with Sofien scoring just twice in 13 games in all competitions, and was sent off in the 3-0 home defeat to Ayr in the League Cup.

The striker found game time limited after Jim McIntyre became manager, and did not play again for Dundee after the 2-2 draw with Hibs in November 2018. Sofien left Dundee by mutual consent at the end of the January transfer window in 2019.

Since departing Dens Sofien has returned to Romanian football, playing for Concordia Chiajna, Academica Clinceni and Botosani.
