Biography

Finnish midfielder Glen Kamara played in the youth setup for Southend United before joining Arsenal’s academy in 2012. Glen made just one appearance for Arsenal - in a 3-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup in 2015 - and spent time on loan to Southend United and Colchester United before signing permanently for Dundee in 2017.

Glen immediately established himself in the Dundee team, making 46 appearances in all competitions during his first season at Dens.

The midfielder provided two assists during the season, for Faissal El Bakhtoui’s late strike to seal victory at Ross County, and A-Jay Leitch-Smith’s dramatic stoppage time winner in the 98th minute against Hamilton. Glen missed most of the following season’s League Cup group stage, and the start of the league season due to injury.

The midfielder captained Dundee in the absence of Darren O’Dea on his return to the team, a 3-0 defeat to Hibs at Dens. Glen was given the armband on two further occasions – a home defeat to Kilmarnock, and a 2-2 draw against Hibs at Easter Road. He also contributed assists in the home and away victories against Hamilton in September and December 2018.

Glen signed a pre-contract agreement with Rangers, to take effect at the expiry of his contract with Dundee in the summer of 2019, and began to feature less regularly in the Dundee first team.

A deal was struck between Dundee and Rangers for the player to join his new club early, and he left Dens for Ibrox in a £50,000 deal on 31 January 2019.

  • The Dee headed home over the Tay from Kirkcaldy with three points and a sense of relief after a keenly contested 2-1 win over Raith Rovers. The match looked likely to be settled by penalties until it exploded into life in the last 10 minutes. Debutant Sofien Moussa came off the bench to put Dundee ahead but when Lewis Vaughan equalised on the stroke of full time spot kicks looked inevitable. However, Jack Hendry, who was also making his competitive debut, headed the winner in front of the delighted travelling support deep into injury time.
