Biography

Born in Geneva, Switzerland, Genseric Kusunga began his career in the youth team at Servette. After four years with Servette, Genseric signed for FC Basel, and was part of the squad that lifted the Swiss league title in 2011, and a league and cup double in 2012.

Genseric chose to represent Angola at international level, and has been capped 9 times since making his debut in 2013. After making just 13 appearances in 2 seasons, Genseric returned to his first club Servette on loan for the 2012/2013 season, making 19 appearances.

The defender then had spells with Oldham Athletic in England and Uniao de Madeira in Portugal, before arriving at Dens on a free transfer in February 2018. Genseric featured regularly during the second half of the 2017/2018 season, making 10 appearances and scoring in the 2-1 defeat to Motherwell in April 2018.

The defender retained his place in the team the following season and despite his sending off in the disappointing 3-0 home defeat to Ayr in the League Cup, featured prominently under both Neil McCann and Jim McIntyre. Genseric made 29 appearances in all competitions, and scored the opening goal in the 2-1 victory over Hearts at Tynecastle in January 2019.

After being released by Dundee in the summer of 2019, Genseric signed for 2nd tier Portuguese side C.D Cova da Piedade.
