Biography

Jamie McGowan was signed by Simon Stainrod from non-league Morecombe during the summer of 1992. He went on to make his debut against Falkirk on the opening day of the following season.

Jamie notched his first goal for the club against Meadowbank Thistle in the League Cup.

After only being at the club for two years, making forty-one appearances, his last coming against Motherwell. He and Dragutin Ristic were used in a player swap deal that brought Neil Duffy and lain Westwater from Falkirk to the club.

He went onto captain the Brockville side four years later in the Scottish Cup Final when Falkirk lost to Kilmarnock. He made a total of one hundred and thirty-one appearances for Falkirk before moving onto Motherwell in 1998. He spent several seasons there before joining St. Mirren, making sixty-one appearances for the Love Street club before being released. He joined Alloa following his release and also went in to play for Albion Rovers and East Fife.

One rare fact about Jamie is that he was capped at volleyball for England
