Biography

The Middlesbrough born winger began his career with Chelsea, scoring once in seven appearances at the start of season 1986- 87. The rest of that term was spent on loan with Partick Thistle for whom he scored ten goals in 25 appearances.

Back at Stamford Bridge the following season, he scored three times in nine appearances, but apart from scoring three times in 14 starts on loan to Swansea, he played no more first team football until Gordon Wallace signed him in the summer of 1990 from Chelsea.

Unfortunately, it didn't prove to be as successful a move as the player he had bought twelve months earlier who had trodden a similar path - Billy Dodds.

Similar is statue to Doddsie, Colin made his dark blue debut against Queen of the South at Palmerston in the League Cup, scoring his first goal in a 3-1 over Partick Thistle at Firhill in November.

That was one of only four goals from 22 appearances and the best in his three seasons at Dens. The following season, he played only ten times scoring three goals and in his final campaign back in the Premier Division he failed to find the net in seven appearances, though five of those were from the bench.

After leaving Dens, he played twice for Hartlepool United the following season and had a spell with Bishop Aukland, but that marked the end of his career in football.
