Match Report

Newspaper extract from The Courier.

Two goals from Steve McCormick gave Dundee an away victory over non league English side Kidder minster Harriers last night.

McCormick pounced in the 17th and 55th minutes before Conference side Kidderminster pulled a goal back with an Ian Arnold penalty.

Dundee broke the dead lock after a corner by Lee Maddison was headed goalwards by trialist Habib Sissoko.

The ball rebounded off keeper Stuart Brock's legs to McCormick who scored with a low shot.

With Dundee looking the more threatening outfit up front, Sissoko had a good chance to make it 2-0 in the 25th minute but he steered the ball just wide. Shortly afterwards McCormick had a fierce shot beaten out by Brock.

Sissoko then shot just over the bar before having a headed effort knocked off the line by Mark Wolsey.

Kidderminster made four substitutions at the start of the second half and were still settling down when Sissoko sent over a perfect cross for McCormick to head firmly past Brock.

Thirteen minutes later, however, Kidderminster pulled a goal back when Arnold scored from the penalty spot after Dundee keeper Robert Douglas had brought down Yates.

A couple of minutes later, Dundee had a narrow escape when a header from Kevin Willetts bounced on top of the bar.

Willetts then struck a powerful long-range effort that produced a fine save by Douglas.

Despite Kidderminster's battling efforts, however, Dundee held on for a well earned victory.
