Dundee trialist David Rogers travelled back north on the team bus after impressing manager John McCormack in this friendly last night.
The former Chester defender will be given his chance in the Dark Blues' home games against Ports mouth tomorrow and Kil- marnock on Tuesday.
"He did well for us to- night and looks a winner," said McCormack.
A first-half goal from striker Jerry O'Driscoll earned Dundee a slender victory over their Vauxhall Conference League opponents.
O'Driscoll latched smartly on to a loose ball in the Morecambe penalty area after 24 minutes and shot calmly past keeper Steve McIlhargy.
Although it was to prove the only goal of the game the Dens side deserved their win, playing some excellent football against one of England's top non league sides.
John Elliot came close to making it 2-0 almost immediately after O'Driscoll's strike but just failed to get enough height on attempted lob. an
Morecambe battled valiantly to get back in the game but the Dundee defence remained firm throughout.
