Match Report

Newspaper extract from The Courier.

John McCormack's men kicked off their pre season campaign in style with an accomplished performance against the English Third Division newcomers.

Prompted by the ever green McInally, the Dark Blues created and spurned a host of first half opportunities.

The chief culprit was John McGlashan who burst through only to see his first effort hit the goalkeeper's legs. He then put the rebound wide.

Despite the possession it wasn't until the stroke of half time that they made it tell when James Grady, receiving a pass from Eddie Annand and cracked the ball home from 25 yards.

The second period seemed to follow the pat tern of the first with Dundee wasting chance after chance. McCormack's interest in former Celtic star Jacky Dziekanouski looks well founded.

It was left to defender Brian Irvine to show his forwards the way when he headed home Anderson's 71st minute corner kick. A third goal arrived in 85 minutes when substitute Raeside's cross was turned into his own net by Macclesfield defender Edey.
