Manager's Programme Notes

Good afternoon and welcome back to the Kilmac Stadium for today's match against Hibernian.

Welcome along to Dens to Jack and his backroom staff for this afternoon's game.

We come into the match today on the back of a very positive performance and result last weekend. Cup football is about getting through at all costs but to put in that performance was particularly pleasing.

When we rewind back a few weeks ago, we lost six at Celtic.

You talk about character, you talk about resilience, you talk about people in there who will stand up and be counted. I saw that in the dressing-room last weekend and that's what pleased me the most.

We had a few tests there. First one was, how do you bounce back from a real heavy defeat? I think they showed that, right from the off we were in their faces.

Being on the front foot, getting after the ball. We go in front and the test then is, can we hold onto it?

We showed real character, real bravery to keep playing. Their main chance was when they hit the bar and even that came from a bit of indecision from us.

We've had numerous chance. Jason Cummings, I think was a touch offside for his disallowed goal. It was great play from Luke McCowan and Jordan McGhee, who I thought was fantastic, outstanding all day.

One of the most pleasing things was the last seven minutes when they threw absolutely everything at us and we felt comfortable.

We were never really under pressure, we controlled the game and dictated it.

Today brings another challenging game and we will need to be at the level of last Saturday again as we look to put more points on the board.
