Manager's Programme Notes

Good afternoon and welcome along to this afternoon's Premier Sports Cup tie with Motherwell.

I'd like to start by welcoming Graham and his backroom team along to Dens.

We come into the match today confident despite last weekend's result.

We've had setbacks before and bounced back. We will bounce back again, our players are a resilient bunch.

On Sunday we caught Celtic on a good day but they caught us on a bad day. We weren't good enough as a team and we made some poor decisions.

We have looked at where we went wrong and it's been another good week on the training pitch working towards this afternoon's match.

Last time out at Dens we had challenging build up for the St. Mirren match and to a man the team were outstanding. Every one of them showed a great mentality.

It's a mentality we will need again this afternoon to progress. We know Motherwell are a good side and we will have to be back at our best to have a chance of getting to the Quarter Final.

The backing for the supporters will be key. The fans helped push us on against St. Mirren we had to see the match out with 10 men. It's difficult to describe exactly how much we have missed that backing over the last season but I'm delighted it's back and can't wait to see it today.

The cup atmosphere at Dens is always special and we are hoping for another special day today.
