At East Dock Street Park last night before 2000 spectators. A high wind blew from the south-cast.

Teams : Dundee - Barrett, Watson, and Campbell; Phillip, Erentz, and McGee; Gilligan, Ford ,Lonie, Maxwell, and Forest.

Wanderers - Coventry, Ireland, and Reid; Matthew, Low, and McHardy: Peat, Graham, Docherty, McIntosh, and Rankine.

Immediately on starting, the ground men took the upper hand, and scored in two minutes. Docherty did what was required.

Dundee wakened up, and pressed, but the Wanderers ran them to their own goal, on several occasions having hard lines in not scoring. A foul off Gow, the Wanderers' centre half, gave the League team the opportunity, and Maxwell sent in a fine shot which touched Coventry's head and went through.

They secured a second goal few minutes afterwards. Gilligan sent in a fine shot from the left, and Maxwell put on the finishing touch.

Coming south again, the Wanderers almost scored from a foul 20 yards out, but as the ball went through without touching no point was allowed. Shortly before half-time Gilligan was again instrumental in scoring, and the period ended -Dundee, 3; Wanderers, 1.

The play was fast at the opening of the second half. A quarter of an hour from the start Docherty reduced Dundee's lead, but Maxwell put his team one higher immediately afterwards.

The game was now stiffly contested. The fifth goal for Dundee was the result of a stinging shot from Maxwell. The ground team put on a third goal a few minutes from the close. Scores:- Dundee, 5; Wanderers, 3.
