The ballot for the Scottish Cup having given the Dundee a bye, the Committee fixed with the Port Glasgow, who stand second on the list of the second division of the League, for a friendly match at West Craigie.

The game was played on Saturday, and a fairly good crowd lined the ropes, considering it was Cup tie day. Mr Black was referee.

The Port was full strength, while the Dundee was without Craig and Longair. One of the new players Brown, Iate of Aston Villa and Renton, acted as linesman for the Dundee.

Teams:- Port Glasgow - Connel; Stewart and Scott; Martin, Currans, and Graham : McCorquodale, Tarbet, Smith, Neill, and McNeil.

Dundee:- Mckie; Ferrier and Brown: R. Fleming, M'Naughton, and Petrie: Thomson, Reid, Dundas, Gilligan, and Keillor.

Dundas won the toss, and the strangers set the ball moving towards the south goal, and the Port men gave the home defence some trouble, but McKie saved finely. At last the home men got past midfield, and Stewart sent the ball down the field, to be returned by Fleming, and Dundas scored cleverly.

Now the strangers played beautifully together, and got down on McKie, but being well supported by Ferrier and Brown he cleared his charge, and up went Reid, who passed across to Keillor, who scored, but no cheering took place, as everyone saw he was offside, and the bali was kicked from the goal mouth.

No exciting play took place, some runs from both sides being the order. After M'Naughton headed, the ball went up the field, and Petrie, from thirty yards out, scored one of the best goals seen taken for many a day. This point was received with loud cheers.

Nothing daunted, the Port came away in good style, and gave the home defence some trouble, Petrie excelling. At last the strangers, from the foot of the outside right, fairly beat McKie amid cheers.

Now some excitement was put into the game, both sides playing hard. Keillor and Gilligan were leading the Dundee forwards, and Keillor sent the ball straight across the goal mouth and Thomson scored.

Halftime was called with the scores standing-Dundee, 3; Port-Glasgow, 1.

After long rest, the second half started. Dundas kicked off, but Curran rushed in, and Tarbet muddled in front of McKie. The kick-off was well taken down, and an existing scrimmage took place in front of Connel, who, after saving several times, was beat by Dundas. The home men were now fairly masters, and Fleming headed into the goal, and the ball was scrimmaged through.

From a well-placed corner by Keillor, M'Naughton headed the sixth goal past Connel. The strangers were now beaten, and the home team took things easy, and a good deal of funny play was indulged in.

The strangers during the last few minutes of the game played hard, and the Dundee goal ran one or two narrow escapes, A pleasant game ended -Dundee, 6; Port Glasgow, 1.
