Dundee have thumbed their nose at just about everybody and everything in their way this season, and yesterday's visit to Aberdeen proved to be no different.
Not only have they defied the pundits who predicted a swift return to the First Division, but they also look on course to remain a thorn in the side of the SPL by completing rebuilding work at Dens Park before the start of next season.
They travelled to Pittodrie to face their bogey side and, despite a miserable record of just one win away to the Dons in 23 years, the Dark Blues came up trumps.
The result, though, shouldn't really be a great surprise.
Close examination shows a run of form which has seen Dundee remain unbeaten in their past five games, while Aberdeen had one victory in their last four.
Certainly Aberdeen, still one point from beating relegation before the match, had everything to play for and everything to prove. And Paul Hegarty's side certainly started as the more positive outfit, but their spirited play couldn't yield clear-cut chances.
The inevitable soon followed when Dundee marched forward and grabbed the lead.
Former Rangers player Steven Boyack latched on to a crossfield pass from Anderson.
He evaded the weak challenge of Wyness and lashed the ball into the net from 16 yards.
Jocky Scott's men could have added a second just moments after the break, but Warner made a fine double save to deny Annand.
Aberdeen were enjoying the bulk of the possession, but, against an enormously resolute Dundee defence, their passing and movement deteriorated the more the game went on.
Dundee's conviction was clearly growing and, in the 86th minute, Tain Anderson grabbed their second with a 20-yard strike which cannoned in off the post.
Aberdeen pulled one back in the dying seconds, when Robbie Winters extended his scoring streak to eight in eight games with a neat side-foot from 12 yards.
There was just one booking - Aberdeen's Anderson.
