Match Report

While County lived to fight another day, Dundee's new manager Jocky Scott was relieved to see his side retain their 100% away record and stay in the cup.

The stage is now set for a cracker at Dens Park on Tuesday if both sides go at it hammer and tongs like yesterday.

Afterwards, manager Scott admitted that County were "very well organised, but they didn't surprise me at all because I saw them in a league game earlier in the week."

County missed the influence of injured playmaker Alex Taylor, but, after Dundee striker Grady had brought a super diving save out of Nicky Walker, the home side began to impress.

Main men were Charlie King, on loan from St Johnstone, and Man of the Match Gerry Farrell. They gave Dundee all kinds of problems.

Grady shaved Walker's right hand post, before Adams and King came close for the home side.

County's top scorer Derek Adams made the breakthrough nine minutes into the second half.

Roy McBain dodged past two defenders, slipped the ball to Adams, and his shot flew past Douglas into the top corner of the net.

But, while the big Ross crowd. prepared for a shock victory, and County's appearance in the quarter-finals for the first time in their history, Dundee struck an equaliser.

John McGlashan was the Dens men's hero, rising magnificently. to head a cross past Walker.

Walker then proved his worth in the last minute, with a great save from Grady.

In the end, a draw was fair enough.

Escalon, Wood and McKay were booked for County, with McGlashen, Smith and McInally yellow-carded for the visitors.
