Match Report

St Mirren did all in their power to stop the league leaders, but fell to two late strikes.

The game was never a classic and was marred by constant fouling.

With two minutes gone, St Mirren's David Winnie put in a strong tackle on Grady and the pattern was set.

Winnie was spoken to shortly afterwards and, minutes later, Andy Roddie and Dundee's Tully were both cautioned. On the football front, Dundee were

never in it, and St Mirren's captain Stevie Watson had a great game. Mendes and Yardley were also causing problems for the Dundee defence.

St Mirren were in the driving seat, but were dealt a fatal blow when Roddie fouled Anderson and was shown the red card for his second bookable offence.

St Mirren again lifted their game and Tommy Turner came close with a tremendous 30-yard free-kick which hit the bar.

However, as St Mirren tired, Dundee started to come more into the game.

Iain Anderson then set the game alight with an unexpected shot which gave Combe no chance.

Dundee's top scorer James Grady put the game beyond doubt from close range just on the final whistle.

However, in the end, it has to be said that Tony Fitzpatrick's team. were rather unfortunate.

As well as Roddie's dismissal, there were bookings for Galloway and Taylor of St Mirren and Dundee's. Tully and Grady.
