Match Report

Stirling keeper Mark McGeown single-handedly halted the advance of John McCormack's Dark Blues towards this season's First Division title.

He produced a double handful of quality stops to deny a home side, which, in all honesty, ought to have had the maximum reward tied up long before the halfway stage.

Maybe it was the after-effects of the breakaway speculation of the previous 24 hours, but Dundee's performance was far from being that of promotion candidates.

McGeown's first quality stop came in nine minutes when he changed direction to fingertip Eddie Annand's volley from Jim Mclnally's pass over the top.

And before half-time McGeown had made Annand's day a miserable one with another couple of decisive stops from him.

Add another three top-class saves as well, and one can realise what a contribution the keeper had given to his side's afternoon.

The second half proved to be a different story though, with Albion contributing a positive note to their play. more

The visitors appeared to have been robbed of a penalty kick in the 46th minute when Dave Rogers looked to have handled a Price header in the danger area.

And although Dundee continued to carve out the better chances, they again found McGeown the main stumbling-block to their efforts to take the lead.

And in fact the Dens Park outfit breathed a sigh of relief when Zahani-Oni beat Douglas, only to see his effort rebound off the post.

Four players were booked - home pair lain Anderson and Barry Smith, along with visitors Gary Paterson and Gavin Price.
