Match Report

Dundee shrugged off the disappointment of losing in the Challenge Cup to Airdrie in midweek to register their second successive 3-0 league win.

John McCormick made changes, even leaving out new wonder boy Jerry O'Driscoll, but the team responded and were never really troubled by Thistle.

Dundee's David Rogers was warned early in the game by referee Jim McCluskey after crashing into Gareth Evans, and he was fortunate to get away with only a warning.

Thistle should have taken the lead when Alex Martin, presented with an empty goal, shot woefully wide.

Dundee's opener came from nowhere. Eddie Annand, who had earlier missed an easy chance, accepted a cross from the right, easily took the ball round Thistle's Callum Milne and fired home to give Dundee the lead.

The second half was dominated by the Dens Parkers, who, on this showing, are clear favourites for the title.

New signing James Grady, from a neat Brian Irvine cross, put No. 2 away from close-range.

And, from a clever free-kick, Dundee's full-back Lee Maddison's shot took a slight deflection to deceive ex-Dens trialist Gary O'Connor and poor Thistle were down and out with the Dark Blues top of the table as the only side with a 100 per cent. record.
