Jim Duffy watched his Dundee side battle to stay top of the table, then claimed: "Our heads aren't down."
The Dens boss felt there was plenty of fizz in his team despite the midweek disappointment of losing to Hearts in the Coca-Cola Cup semi-final.
Duffy said: "The semi had no bearing on what went on out there.
"No way is a draw at Cappielow a heads down result.
"It's a difficult place to come but I thought we worked hard and were worth a draw.
"There weren't many chances but that was because the teams basically cancelled each other out. "It was always going to take a mistake or something wondrous to bring a goal.
"But we're still top of the league and I'm quite happy with that."
Morton had more of the play but they lacked ideas on how to break down a strong defence in which
Craig Tully and Robert Raeside always looked comfortable.
Dundee had a couple of sticky spells early on and they were a bit fortunate to survive a penalty claim when Ian Anderson seemed to handle a Warren Hawke shot.
But Dundee actually had the best opportunity three minutes from half-time.
Central defender Brian Reid lost concentration and let Ray Farningham in on goal but the veteran placed the ball past Dave Wylie and the post.
Billy Thomson was the busier keeper, however, and he had a superb save to keep out Derek Lilley's 20-yarder early in the second half.
Morton boss Allan McGraw, who had slammed his side after last week's defeat at Clydebank, felt he got 100 per cent this time.
He said: "We dominated the game without creating very much.
"But the effort was there and we played some good football. Maybe we play too much football at times."
