Manager's Programme Notes

Naturally I was delighted to get that first win under my belt against Motherwell.

You could tell by the manner in which it was achieved just how nervous the players were after after going into a 2-1 lead last Saturday. It was consequently a great relief for everyone within the club that we held on to secure victory.

Having achieved this breakthrough one can only hope that the confidence how gained by that win will continue as we head into this afternoon's visit from St. Mirren.

Since I arrived at the club over a month ago, the players' response and attitude in training has really been first class. They, just like the supporters, needed a result to give their confidence a boost and allow them to relax a little bit more. No matter how hard they work in training, it is very important that they don't undo the good work by tensing up on match days.

The immediate aim is to continue to work in the same manner, but with a bit more freedom to express ourselves in matches. Hopefully this will help them. achieve the right results inthe coming matches.
