Manager's Programme Notes

This is the game which levels out our home performances and away ones. We couldn't have picked a more vital encounter than Motherwell. They gave us a very close game at their place and at this moment are fighting for their lives! I know already that Tom McLean will have us 'sussed' out so I'm sure that we have a battle on our hands this evening!

Letter of the week award certainly goes to Alan Woodcock of Molison Street, Dundee. A punchy letter, from the heart and a dedicated (I hope) Dundee fan. Thanks for expressing your views so candidly. As before, Alan, next time at Dens Park introduce yourself to me!

Staff rarely get a mention throughout the season. I'll put that right, now, by saying 'well done Bert Slater' for all the hard work that you've done since I've joined Dundee. Perhaps John Hendry one day will repay your faith in him. With the right attitude and he has it... time will tell! John Blackley of course needs no introduction! Why he slipped away out of the Premier League is still a mystery to me. But a marvellous asset to all at the club and the vital cog that was missing. ... To both of you - I've done a 89 at Lytham St. Annes and not over the first. nine either!!!

To all Dundee fans thanks for your patient support, you will be rewarded one day and I also hope that it's sooner rather than later! (and I've been supporting Dundee F.C. for over forty five years!!)
