Match Report

Source unknown.

The cloud of euphoria which had hung over Easter Road since the mid week victory over Rangers didn't take long to evaporate as Dundee ran up four with out reply before the break to kill the game.

Dundee's opener started with McKinlay dispossessing Steve Cowan and lifting the ball over the Hibs defence. Keith Wright's speed took him clear to cross low for Coyne to score.

Number two also involved Wright, this time in a double role.

First he was pulled down by McIntyre, winning a free kick. Then he was on the spot to beat Rough from close range after John Brown had neatly headed down Angus's free-kick cross.

Hibs' tale of woe continued with McIntyre again the villain of the piece, tripping Coyne in the penalty box.

The Dundee striker picked himself up and coolly slotted the spot-kick past Rough.

The Hibs defenders now had the jitters and a miscued crossfield pass, once more by the luckless McIntyre, was picked up by Brown. He ran fully 20 yards before sliding the ball under the advancing Rough.

Dundee should have gone nap just before half-time Coyne volleyed over the bar at the end of Dundee's best move of the game when it seemed simpler to score.

Crowd - 11,000.

Man of the Match-JOHN COLLINS, for being the only Hibee to worry Dundee.
