What a way to treat old pals!

With the homesters seemingly coasting, ex-Bankie Tommy Coyne collected a high dropping ball, turned his man beautifully and put it where Jim Gallacher was not.

If the game was no classic, at least nobody seemed to be saving himself for Monday Cup ties.

That Coyne goal equalised a Clydebank beauty. Joe Dickson crossed from the right, Conroy headed back across goal and Lex Grant nicked it in at the far post.

Minutes after Grant's counter, Dundee should have equalised when Jim Rodger seemed to handle in a goalmouth melee. But John Brown's kick was brilliantly saved by Gallacher.

If that was Gallacher's highlight, Bobby Geddes at the other end equalled him shortly after half-time with an incredible save from a Fairlie shot.

Hard as the game was, there was only one booking-Lex Grant for a foul on Brown.

Rafferty, Duffy, Brown, and Wright were outstanding for the visitors, as were Auld, Fairlie, Davies, and Grant for the Bankies.
