Manager's Programme Notes

In the Skol Cup game against Rangers at Ibrox we were handicapped by having to play for most of the ninety minutes with ten men. We still managed to draw after 90 minutes and were in fact only beaten in the last five minutes of extra- time by a superb shot by Graeme Souness and a header from Ted McMinn. Given the same amount of luck and determination shown that night, we have very good a chance of reversing that result in today's game.

Since coming to Ibrox Graeme Souness has changed their style of play and also the personnel at the club with new faces being pre sent from those on duty in previous sea sons. Colin West and Terry Butcher will be out of today's side. If previous matches bet- ween ourselves and Rangers are anything to go by then today's game should be a cracker.

I would like to make mention of Rab Shannon's excellent debut against West Germany in the Scottish Under-21 side. Dundee have another representative in a Scotland pool and he is Stephen Frail who leaves on Monday with the Scottish Under-17 squad for a tournament in Belgium. Hopefully these two players and others at Dens will get more recognition at International level in the future.
