Manager's Programme Notes

Our last few results have been disappointing and it is difficult to put the finger on one particular weakness. These results are all the more disappointing when we recall the two excellent Cup games we had against Aberdeen. The team then hit a spell of inconsistency and this in itself is puzzling. We could look at the injuries we have had or the suspensions that have affected the side but these all have to be coped with and they cannot be used as excuses. At the end of the day our results. should have been better.

We still have a chance to do something starting with today's game against Motherwell. In football you do not get many chances and in this respect we cannot afford any more slip ups if we hope to achieve anything this season. We must keep up the pressure on Rangers and today's home game gives us an opportunity to do just that.

Hopefully we will have most of the squad available today so that we can put out the best team for the job. We want both points and we want to come up with a result but one thing is for certain there will be a marked improvement in performance in today's match.
