Newspaper extract from The Sunday Post.
If Dundee manager Archie Knox was critical of his side's performance following last week's victory over Motherwell he must have been furious with their showing here, writes a Sunday Post Reporter.
They had the lion's share of the chances, yet poor finishing and two critical lapses of concentration in defence left them. pointless.
The first was criminal. A low corner from Kane appeared to be going nowhere until first Shannon, then McCormack contrived to allow the ball through their legs before it swung past a stunned Geddes and into the net. To their credit, however, Dundee rallied to create a number of first-half chances. A dreadful pass back by Brazil allowed Harvey to steal in, but Rough brilliantly parried his attempt, then raced to beat Connor to the rebound.
Tosh McKinlay, operating in midfield, blazed a free-kick over, then Harvey squandered a chance, shooting weakly at Rough.
Another short pass-back, this time from Harris, almost cos Hibs dear when Harvey again homed in on Rough, but the dependable 'keeper blocked with his knees.
He was on hand again in 69 minutes to tip a McCormack-header over the bar and just when it looked as though Dundee's pressure was to go unrewarded, a McKinlay corner was missed by the whole Hibs defence and Bobby Glennie had time to control the ball before angling a sho wide of Rough for the equaliser.
At that point the shutters should have been put up. But, within minute, the Dundee defence was again caught napping when Cowan and Durie combined to allow the latter to slide the winner under Geddes for his first goal in more than a month.
There were four bookings, all for fouls, Munro, Hunter, and Brazil of Hibs, Smith of the visitors.
Best Hibs were Rough, Fulton, Kane, Cowan, and Durie. Shannon, Glennie, Duffy, Connor, and McKinlay did well for Dundee.
Man of the Match-MARK FULTON, He strolled through this match containing the ineffective Dundee attack with ease.
