Manager's Programme Notes

Since the turn of the year everyone has been wishing us a happy new year. Unfortunately for Dundee Football Club this has not been the case. Only three games played since January 1 and only one result out of the three is not what I am looking for

Last Saturday's performance at Brockville highlighted one or two faults that have been creeping into our play in the past month, faults that must be rectified now and not allowed to grow if we wish the club to return to the Premier League which as I have always said must be our number one priority. Now that we are out of the Scottish Cup it is our only priority for the remainder of the season.

Improvement has to start to-day against Ayr United and this will be a very hard afternoon for everyone. We have had four very close, keenly contested games against Ayr already this season and the clubs stand even with one win, two draws and one defeat.

Ayr are one of the more entertaining First Division teams and they have good players in their side. I am sure to-day's game will be one that will do the First Division full justice.

Ayr like ourselves are a club desperate to go back to the Premier League and we are hopeful that this game will give you full value for money,
