Match Report

If anyone deserved to score in this one-sided affair it was Billy Williamson. He peppered the East Stirling goal with shot after shot. Most of them were on target, but 'keeper Kelly kept them out. It wasn't his lucky day.

As expected, Dundee attacked Incessantly, but the visitors' man-to-man marking proved difficult to beat. Ironically, it was just after East Stirling's first real attack that Dundee opened the scoring.

Ashwood had been brought down on the edge of the penalty box. And when the free kick was cleared upfield Sinclair and Murphy sprinted off in a great interpassing movement. It finished with the latter slotting home a low shot.

In the second half Dundee continued to push forward into a stiff breeze. East Stirling had occasional forays, however, and a moment's carelessness by the Dens' defence let Lamont have a pot shot that just skimmed the crossbar.

The substitution of Fleming by Mackie quickly paid dividends. From the subs' first cross Sinclair bulleted a header past Kelly, Mackie and Sinclair had the ball In the net again, but both efforts were chalked off.
