Newspaper extract from The Courier.
Two goals in two minutes early in the second half, the first from Cammy Fraser and the second from Eric Sinclair, earned Dundee two valuable points and stretched their unbeaten run to seven games.
Dundee got off to a promising start and might have been ahead after only three minutes when Fleming crashed a volley against the underside of the bar- after a mistake by Dempsey.
The Dens Parkers then forced three corners in a row as they put the visitors under siege, and although Sinclair was on target with a shot after good work by Murphy and Fleming, Hamilton keeper Ferguson had no difficulty in saving.
The visitors were taking some time to settle and 15 minutes were gone before we saw their first real attack.
But Dundee were soon camped back on the Hamilton 18-yard line, and Ferguson had to be courageous with a dive at Sinclair's feet to prevent a goal again after good work from Fleming.
Cammy Fraser sent the ball high over the bar in yet another Dundee raid inspired by youngster McKimmie.
But on the half hour mark the home fans, and there weren't too many of them, were showing signs of exasperation after so much possession by their team and nothing to show for it.
Shirra came close with a free kick on the 18 yard line, awarded against keeper Ferguson for over carrying the ball.
The same player sent across a nice ball into the goalmouth but found no takers before Wright almost caught Dundee on the hop shortly before the interval with a snap shop from 20 yards which was far too close for comfort.
Sinclair got the second half underway when he tested Ferguson with a header from a McGeachie cross which the keeper did well to touch over the bar.
In 55 minutes Dundee sent on Williamson for Shearer and he was only on the park three minutes when Fraser ended the deadlock with a fine goal.
A Williamson cross was headed out by a defender and the former Hearts man scored with a low left foot shot from 18 yards into the corner of the net.
Two minutes later Sinclair put Dundee further ahead, and this time Fraser started it when he was fouled by Howie, took the free kick himself and his high lob for the far post found Sinclair who headed strongly into the net from close range.
