A rather fortunate penalty one minute after the break gave an ailing Dundee outfit the kiss of life after Albion had gone in ahead at the break.
Stirling ended 32 minutes of dreary play with a well-taken headed goal by Irvine. McPhee did the spadework on the right and chipped a perfect cross over 'keeper Geddes's head to make Irvine's task easy.
Dundee's penalty came after O'Sullivan had brought Mackie down just inside the area and Shirra's kick levelled the scores.
Dundee began to show more aggression, and came close to scoring twice with headers from Sinclair and Scrimegour which were cleared off the line by Moffat and Kennedy respectively.
To be honest, though, Dundee did not deserve more than their first away point.
Bookings were handed out to Fraser, of Dundee, and Stirling pair McPhee and Steedman.
