Match Report

Newspaper extract from The Sporting Post.

Tommy Lipton's team proved just Dundee's cup of tea. It was too easy.

The Dens Parkers werse in sparkling form, particulars down the left flank. Then Bobby Bowman was far too generous to his old mates. He gave Juliussen far too much scope, That sort of things fatal. The centre scored four, but might have had more.

Indeed, Dundee always looked good enough to score when they pleased. Alloa two counters came during a "take it easy spell" and didn't mean anything to the game.

"Pud" Hill roused the ire of McGuire with his whole bag of tricks, and there were far too many fouls. Evergreens Ancell and Smith and the up-and coming Ewen were the brightest Dark Blues, though local boy Gunn struck up promising understanding with Johnny Pattillo.

Spiders who kept on trying, were Grant, Clark, Stewart, Dolan, and Carr. Veteran Connor found Tommy Gray one of those insurmountable obstacles that won't be either beaten or by-passed.

Attendance-14,000.
