So one-sided that the shots sent at Bennet could bhave been counted on the fingers of an Armless Wonder!
"Juli" was out of luck - he only got a hat trick! Had all his goalworthy efforts gone home that record held by Petrie of Arbroath (13 v. Aberdeen Bon Accord) would have gone by the board.
Dundee's right triangle worked with mathenatical precision. Everybody was pleased when Turnbull put his own moniker on the score sheet, for previously he had "laid 'em on" for Gallagher and Juliussen.
Little Hilly provided lots of entertainment. He missed a penalty early on.
Forwards found it easy because of the capable half-backs, particularly Mackenzie, who purveyed like a pre-war restaurateur. Apart from a few miskicks from Bowman the defence was impregnable.
Rovers had an albibi. They lost McLure with a knee injury after 15 minutes. He resumed for only a few minutes after the interval.
Bruce kept on trying, and helped greatly to restrict the score.
