At Carolina Port, Dundee, those teams met in a return League fixture. Nearly 6000 spectators witnessed the game. There were several changes in both teams, but more especially in that of the visitors, who had entirely renewed their defence, while one or two new men appeared in front.

Dundee had two alterations from the team which visited Paisley the previous Saturday. The teams were:- Dundee - Barrett; Darroch and Burgess; Dundas, Longair, and Hendry; Thomson, Sawers, Vail, McDonald, and Keillor.

St Bernards - Hunter; McLean and Milne; Murdoch, Mark, and Tennant; Wilson, Paton, McKnight, Brown, and Hall.

The home team won the toss, and elected to play from the western goal, with both wind and sun in their favour. From the start Dundee made the running. Keillor had the first try, the ball just landing on the net. Shots by Longair, Vail, and Thomson were equally unsuccessful, and the Saints right wing broke away.

A foul against Longair gave them a chance, but the ball was headed over, and Dundee resumed the attack in force. The stripes kept up the pressure for a considerable time, but they failed to gauge the wind properly, and at each attempt the ball was sent high over the bar.

Vail was thus early making his presence felt by his earnest attention to the Edinburgh custodian, and he finally signalised his first appearance by opening the scoring for Dundee with a clinking shot, a fine return of Hendry's giving him his opportunity. This success was loudly cheered, and Dundee came away again in vigorous style.

Thomson in following up a long drive from Dundas was tripped by Milne within the prescribed limit, and a penalty was awarded. Dundas was entrusted with the kick, and taking careful aim he registered number two for his side.

A third point shortly followed, McDonald giving the finishing touch to a smart bit of passing. The first half soon afterwards ended with the score standing - Dundee, 3 goals; St Bernards, 0.

On resuming, Thomson headed a beautiful passing run which roused the enthusiasm of the home supporters. The ball travelled from foot to foot till Vail got on. The burly Fifer outstripped the backs, and ran down on Hunter with the ball at his toe. He failed to steady himself, however, ere taking the final kick, and, to the disappointment of the crowd, who were preparing to cheer, the leather rolled harmlessly past.

The game was now more open, but the Dundonians continued to have the best of it, their forwards showing to better advantage than during the first period. Sawers was the next to distinguish himself, and he capped a fine individual run by sending the ball past Hunter, who ran out to defend his charge.

The Saints seemed to rouse themselves a bit after this, and forced the home team to act on the defence. Milne made amends for his previous blunder by a splendidly-judged long shot, which Barrett caught but failed to hold, and the leeway was reduced by one.

This point was too long in coming, however, to give the visitors hope of pulling the match out of the fire. They did the bulk of the pressing during the remainder of the game, but no further scoring took place, the match ending - Dundee, 4 goals; St Bernards, 1.
